2011

  Day 24

Fri 24 Jun 2011

Day opened with scattered cloud and little wind, although we had a long lie! Took some provisions at local stores, then headed out to visit "The Temple" (Knights Templar) and "St Clement Dane's" (RAF) churches. (St Clement Dane's had a special service in progress so we visited St Bride's church (printers and journalists) instead. It is reckoned that there have been at least 8 churches on this site, with remains dating back to at least Roman times.

Still sunny at lunchtime. Moved on to "La Fromagerie" for lunch (heaven for cheese-a-holics), purchasing some of the tasted cheeses before returning to the boat late afternoon. Cloud increased during the afternoon, with rain setting in by evening.

David and Betty arrived for dinner around 20:00, and stayed till nearly midnight - great evening, great company.
