Left home around 06:30 for the drive South. Stopped off for "breakfast" at Berwick Garden Centre, before continuing on to Beamish Living Museum, just outside Chester-le-Street in Tyne & Wear. Despite being caught with a busy day as a result of English half-term (Scotland only got the Monday as the holiday), we had a very enjoyable visit - pictures taken can be seen on the "photos page" of this log. We took a ride on the tram, visited the mining village where we saw rag-rug making, and went to the Georgian Manor where the lady had just taken fresh parkin from the oven - tasted wonderful!
Mid-afternoon, we continued our journey South, ending up at the Leeds (East) Premier Inn, where we had a fantastic Thai meal at the attached restaurent, the "Brown Cow and Dragon" (they also do a standard menu in the bar).
