
"Swallow" is a restored working-boat of the company "Cowburn & Cowpar" who specialised in carrying liquids (chemicals in partidular). Initially the liquids were carried in carboys, but later their boats had tanks.

Worcester Bar is the junction between the Worcester & Birminham and the Birmingham Canal Navigations. Canal companies charged their toll-rates based on "gauging" at various points - particularly at the ends where boats went into another company's water.
